what is the best way to remove scratches on an acrylic tank ,i have a few im concerned about ,please let me know if this the wrong place to post this thanks.

You would use Novus 1, 2, & 3 in a progression to remove scratches from acrylic. It is a lot of work , but it isn't hard to do.

thanks man just got some feedback from aldiaz33 and he said that works on mostly on fine scratches , but the ones u could farely feel ur nail go into is better to use sand paper fine grade .

I have used the Novus with great success on even fine scratches. To some degree, you will have to find your preference by just getting to it.

To add to the orginal post topic: Also, what type of sander to use? It seems as though the Orbital Sander is most recommended but does anyone know what speed I should get. I've found the Bosch 3727 rated at 12,000 OPM (orbits per minute).
However, it gets confusing when I see the makita 9227cx3 7" rated at 3000OPM but with higher amps (10) to the 3.3 for the Bosch. Anyway, can someone shed some light on this.

All of these things are slowly removing material so the surounding area is level with it. If you have deep sratches a fine grit material will work but a coarser material will do it fster.

X2 on this. add a buffer and your set. you could sand it also with fine, 1200 don't go any lower. else you are gonna have to get the scratches out with the 3. not as easy as it seems.

Do not sand, Do NOT use an orbital sander. Use novus with a buffer that does less than 1000 RPM's.
