I got this 125 gallon tank. It was a steal and they even delivered it and threw in a stand for free. I should have known better. And of course I couldn't see that it was scratched up in the dark when they got here, and the picture I got was on my cell so I didn't exactly get to pick apart the picture. Anyhow, now I have a huge tank that needs nothing but work and a stand that I soooo do not trust. Today I made a stand and thank goodness I tested for leaks cause one inch into it, it was leaking like a siv... that's when I saw that the plastic frame on the bottom was cracked too.

There is a chip in the glass in front and there are scratches all the way around and on the bottom. It looks kinda like they used it as a rock tumbler. The haze is scratches, not funk. So, is there a way to correct the scratches and will that chip be a detriment?

I am considering just ordering a new piece of glass for the front (lo-iron since it's there) and putting on a new plastic frame. I guess I'm equipped to do that, though it will totally eat my stocking budget. If I go that route, I know some of ya'll have def. ordered glass successfully, any tips and where to's? Also, what materials will I need to replace this?

So you can see what I'm working with:

Oh well. Problem solved. I found another 125 that is in perfect condition and costs less than what I spent on this one. I am listing this FS for reptiles or for repair with full disclosure, for what the new tank is going to cost. then I'm going to pretend it all never happened.

Turns out that 125 was a 65. Spectacular shape, but decidedly not 125. When I told the lady she seemed really bothered. Apparently she bought it a couple weeks before but the apartment complex made her take it down cause the floor bowed and the ceiling below her actually cracked. Thank goodness it wasn't a 125. So... I'm still looking for another tank and I just sold the lemon... possibly... to a guy who's 125 just cracked. He can either fix it or cannibalize it to fix his. I think the latter would be better, certainly cheaper than buying the single pane of glass. What a crappy few months this has been.

I sold the lemon and replaced it fairly quickly. It is water tight, and waiting for wood and plant deliveries!!! I'm excited. No idea what I'm stocking, but excited!!!!
The cloudiness is almost gone by now. This is yesterday.
