scratched scales?

Got home from work last night and noticed that, it definitely wasn't there before I left. I'm pretty sure he just scratched himself on the rock, but it almost looks like a growth? How can I help it heal?
 
Had a snail in there for a bit, but he didn't seem to enjoy it so I took it out. 20180527_122525.jpgwater parameters look to be fine, just did a 50% water change the other day.
 
Just keep your water quality high and if you'd like it would possibly help to do a salt bath to aid in healing. Watch him closely and if it does turn out to be a growth have medications on hand just in case but a salt bath can do wonders for injuries and illnesses. I've never had a fish injure its scales but it's possible he could have tried to jump. Have you checked the temperature recently?
