:wall: i have a 90 gallon with a few small scratches in it. it is a glass tank. any ideas on fixing them would be great . thanks:thumbsup:

Are they on the inside or outside? If they are on the inside you can just fill the tank with water and they won't show up if the scratches are clean. If its on the outside you are out of luck.

they are on the inside i had sand on the glass scruber. they do go away when clean but are back in acouple days. it sucks having to clean that area every day

You have three options.1 You can clean the glass every couple of days.2 You can turn the tank around making the back the new front.3 You can replace it with a brand new 150Gal.tank.

You could melt the glass down and make new tank walls!

could you not just buff the scractches out? Glass needs to be polished to see through it so why not? But I do have to agree, turning the tank around is the easiest.

I've also got a few minor scratches on my planted tank for the same reason as yours.

My solution has been just to try and focus on the fish and plants, and not on the scratches ... so far so good

got this from the web:

For an unsightly scratch, try applying a coat of clear nail polish. Remove excess with nail polish remover on a clean cloth.

Another option is to buy a very gentle metal polishing compound, such as Brasso, and polish out the scratch with a soft cotton cloth. This takes a lot of elbow grease and you do run the risk of creating tiny abrasive scratches.
