Scrubbie arrangment 4 biomedia

I'm setting up a 55g tank as a sump and i'm wondering which way to set arrange the pot scrubbies to maximize bio media. Lay them flat or on their side. The bio-chamber will be 12"x12"x12" and i have about 100 scrubbies

I just tossed them in. Then ever couple of weeks I stir them up.

does not matter.. they have the same surface area regaurdless of how you stack them.. as long as they get wet yer good to go

I like to alternate layers, that way, if one actually is better, you've got it covered!

I would alternate layers as we'll 1 layer flat the next on there side
