the dollar store ones are a lil smaller but they come in a package of 6 for less money... so with the dollar store you get more surface area for less money...
 
The dollar store ones are a lot smaller than this. I think a good way to measure would be to weigh them.
 
I would go to a Joane fabrics or another fabric store. You can buy a whole roll of the stuff way cheaper. There are several resources online that show how to tie them etc. Anyway same material for way cheaper and you will be sure they wont have anti microbial finishes on them, cause with fabric if you aren't paying for it you aren't getting it. Plus they should have weave sizes for your selection. Another option at the fabric places, look for the remnant sections and pieces labeled as "dirty", often a piece will get some dust on it and they mark the whole piece down super cheap. If the spot can't be washed, cut it out, no loss to you for your type of project.
