the MATH;
measure the area you want to fill with SCRUBBIES in inches.
L" x W" x H" = cubic inches
Cubic Inches divided by 9 = SCRUBBIES needed

example;
12" x 12" x 12" = 1728 cubic inches
1728 cu. in. divided by 9 = 192 SCRUBBIES
so,
for a 1 cu. ft. bio-chamber,
you would need 192 SCRUBBIES to fill it...

If you have any questions PLEASE feel free to ask.
I am usually always online, and I will get back to you
the same day, usually inside of an hour or two, if not sooner...

Thanks, from the SCRUBBIE guy, ~Ben :thumbsup:

So what is the math for qty based on tank?
55 gal. stocked to max.
what would the scrubby load need to be?

am i asking it correctly?

What are you running on the tank now, for filtration?

"Stocked to max" is a vague amount...What is in the tank?

What is the bio-load? (this would entail fish, food, type of food,W/C's etc)

The only hard and fast rule for "math" as applied to SCRUBBIES, would be the formula to calculate, SCRUBBIE count for a given area...

As you see, there are too many variables to have a formula for starting at that end of the equation...

you are so picky :)

I guess I am talking about a 55gal tank

I would say 2 small Koi 6" each now.

fed 3 times a day. change water once a week. current set up for the koi is a 29gal. I have a 170 filter and a power head moving water. Also long air tube blowing the bubble agitating the top . all tests are coming up nice now and fish are growing and looking awesome. I want to expand the habitat. to the 55gal.

If I really think about it. if a filter that is less than a cubic foot can handle the bio-load of a 55gal tank then I might have answered my own question.

I guess I just build the sump with the 30 gal long figure space and take a shot at it. When the cash flow is going I will be in touch. Thanks

Mike
