So I've been working on a river setup in a 20long. Was thinking some nano fish that wouldn't eat my adult scuds would be pretty cool.
The tank currently has 4 BNpleco babies that got out of the breeder box the other 11 are still in.
Was thinking maybe some gobies and rasbora type fish but open to suggestions20200707_101715.jpg20200707_101700.jpg20200707_102906.jpg

They're just so fun to watch zoom what about the microrasbora? I figure the larger scuds would be safe

I think pretty much any fish other than strict algae eaters would snack on your scuds. Your big ones may be safe with microrasboras or similarly tiny fish but the small guys will be eaten. I bet otocinclus would leave them alone, could do an OTO tank if the scuds are a priority.

Biggest concern would be maintaining a population. Babies getting eaten would be okay the adults are the fun ones.

Scuds hide in substrate REALLY well. I wouldn't worry too much about a small fish totally eradicating them. Something shy and small, like one of the micro rasboras or one of the smaller varieties of pencilfish would probably be fine with them. A few will get eaten here and there, but they're not super effective predators of fast moving larger prey and many varieties of pencils feed topside more readily than from the substrate.
