Scuds in your tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Have not seen them for sale in years... awesome live food. If I ever get my hands on them again I'de def keep a colony.

What about keeping them in your main tank? The seller says they'll colonize the filter pads so they provide a constant supply of food.

def possible but I'de still run a small tank to make sure they didn't get wiped out ect... they breed like mice and are easy to keep. my fish always ate them all, so might deped on what kinda filtration. I could see them colonizing a canister.

Look at the date on the guys photos, he is from the future!!

I've tried them but wasn't able to keep a culture afloat, but there are still a few in my 245G. I saw one on a chunk of driftwood when I pulled it out. I was hoping they'd colonize the substrate, but so far I'm not too impressed.
nothing like that will last for long in my 55G, the cories are just that good.
I'm going to try again though, just last night I ordered some more - Hyalella azteca - off aquabid. these are supposed to be the hardier and more prolific species. I have no idea what the previous ones I got were.
I just laid on the floor and looked in my sump and saw one in 3 minutes, so there aren't very many in there either.
