A Scud is a freshwater invertebrate that is like a shrimp.
Here's a picture. A lot of trout fisherman will know this since they are one of the biggest parts of a trouts diet.

well put them into your planted tank. some will get eaten and some wilol breed. asid from needing plants, they are pretty undemanding

i find those in local ponds and lakes, lol considered trying to breed them and i think i will now to make some £

Try to get several generations before feeding wild caught scuds as sometimes the are carriers for double or even triple host nematodes, and in some waters, tapeworms. Without the alternate hosts the parasites die out as they need them to complete the life cycle, most species of temparate scuds will give you several generations each year in a room temp tank, just seed a 10g (planted) with the small new ones you net out and leave the wild ones in the 1st tank, they are great fish food, especially for smaller predatory fish with hard mouths like many cichlids.

ohhh are those like those water flaeas or something

Sort of, except there are many species and they range from around 1/4"-slightly over 1" long. I like them as detritus eaters.

Old thread, but do scuds need dechlorinated water or will straight tap work?
