So far the only thing my silver dollars have eaten has been romaine lettuce, and all the plants in my tank. Does the lettuce have all of the nutrients the fish need or do I need to keep trying pellets?

They definitely like the greens, you might also try algae wafers - mine love those and will grab them before they hit the bottom. They will also eat Hikari medium size pellets and shrimp pellets as well, so try a bit of variety for yours.
 
I have had success with Omega One Algae wafers which can easily be broken up if they are smaller sized SD's or my big red hooks take them whole. When smaller they also like the Omega One floating Kelp pellets. I like to use both these products due to the fact they have plant based items as the first two ingredients. This I also feed to my H. Pearsei. Otherwise I will also have some NLS pellets I use which are also greedily eaten up. These also work out well for a well balanced diet even for these herbivores.
 
my silver dollars eat mainly a meaty diet since i have preds like red tailed payara in the tank but they eat spirluna flakes,color flakes,massivore pellets and silversides if they can get one the preds miss
 
Ok thank you! I have algae wafers and they ate them so that's good and they're also munching on the romaine in the tank. I'm just trying to grow them so when I get my ckf they will have a head start and won't get eaten
