Are SDs usually just used as dithers with pirhana-like fish, or are they helpful as aggression lightning rods in other types of setups?
I've got an oddball predator community going in my 220, and there's a pike who's a bit too aggressive towards my paratilapia. My tank is about as heavily stocked as I'd like it to be, so adding SDs would be going a little heavier than I've planned. The tank is very over-filtered and I do plenty of water changes so it shouldn't be an issue.
So my question is 2 part: 1, will SDs help at all with the pike's aggression? And if yes, then 2, what's the minimum number of SDs I should put in a 220 to have some effect? I was thinking 4 of em.
Much thanks as always!
