Sea horses in Thames river in England

please check out this article. too bad they dont mention whether they are in completely fresh water or brackish. does anyone live close by to that area?

I would wounder what part of the river they are on upper or lower in that the lower would be Brakish water.

The thames is tidal so between fresh and brackish depending where abouts on the river they're living they are living.

The short-snouted seahorse, Hippocampus hippocampus, is a species of seahorse in the family Syngnathidae. It is endemic to the Mediterranean Sea and parts of the North Atlantic, particularly around Italy and the Canary Islands. Colonies of the species have recently been discovered in the River Thames around London and Southend-on-Sea.[3]
Their preferred habitat is shallow muddy waters, estuaries or seagrass beds.[3]

The exact same thing that is happening with the bull sharks, they are adapting.

here in ukraine, we have population of black sea pipefish living in completely fresh water river. so i would guess, it is possible for sea horses to adopt as well.
p.s. as soon as i set up a special tank, i am going to try to catch some pipefish
