Hi,

I got a few questions about this sand.

1. Does it ever stop clouding up the water? Everytime you disturb the sand it gets cloudy.

2. Does this sand keep the poo on the surface only? Ive noticed alot of poo on the surface, so Im wondering if it all stays on top or not. This will help me on how I do water changes.

Thanks

^ Can't really answer your first question since i'm not sure, but for your 2nd question, i think it depends on how long you leave the poo in there... coz over time it will obviously decompose, or fish may brush over it and break it down into smaller bits which theoretically could quite easily start getting embedded into the sand bed...

eventually it does stop, but your in for a world of hurt(well cloudiness) if you didnt wash the crap out of this sand before you put it in the tank.

sand keeps poop chunks on the surface but eventually poo works down into the sand. but thats ok because its fertilizer.

doesnt washing the flourite black sand make you lose much of the nutrients/fertilizers the sand is come with?

good point.

i know with Eco complete and ADA Aqua-soil.. its stated right on the bag. DO NOT RINSE!!!

flourite doesn't come packed with nutrients.......just dust, dust, and more dust! You need to wash the bejeezus out of it and it will still cloud for awhile.

As to the poop issue, you willl just need to siphon it out or adjust your filter output so it blows it to your intake to be sucked up.
