Seachem , Hypersorb and Purigen questions

First of all let me state I love seachem their carbon and their stability product have helped me a great deal and are the absolute best IMO.But before I buy these two products I was curious what your guys experience may be.

Does it lower nitrates measurably?
Does it work ?

I can tell you that Purigen can make water sparkle. It can also be regenerated with equal parts bleech and water several times over. I run it in all my tanks. Just my 2 cents...

Thank you based on that I will order some. I run an extra filter on my 90 gallon that is already over filtered and UV'd out Its a top fin 60 I run it because I can put whatever I want in the bags without having to crack open a canister. ill try some purigen hopefully that will help with the nitrates until I get my coral life RO unit running (Thanks coral life for really reinventing the wheel on this one)

Anyone have experience with the hypersorb ? It must be relatively new because I never noticed it before and I am a bit of a SEACHEM whore...

hey hows that purigen working out for you, did you notice a reduction in nitrates?
i went with kents nitrate sponge (it was 17 $ a gallon opposed to 50$ a L) and so far i havent really seen a change in nitrates,
i know it keeps the water clear, but thats not really my issue, im looking for nitrate reduction. (i rather go chemicaly then do more than 100 gal wc a week, 100 gals is my cut off!

That is great I do 50% water changes twice a week because I have 20-40 ppm nitrate from the tap. And until I get my RO hooked up I need something to keep me from pulling my hair out. Believe me I would never use the stuff if I did not have to. (Although it is fun if you have the time and the means to make your water invisible which I have achieved for the last 5 or so months. )

overdose you're prime at waterchanges. it detoxes the nitrates. petsolutions had RO units for around $150 i believe....

Perhaps a refugium would be a better idea? Or even better, an algae filter. There are detailed plans, B&A readings, and other peoples results all in one thread here somewhere.
