I'm wanting to put some Seachem Matrix in my wet/dry sump to add some biological filtration to my system but I have a few questions first.

Do you think a 800 micron media bag would hold the Matrix without it falling through?

What is the difference between Matrix and Pond Matrix?

Is this media meant to be used completely submerged?

Pond matrix has bigger stones...
The media is made to be completely submerged, and most of it sinks.

An 800 micron bag will definitely hold the media. Each piece of media is about 1-2cm in diameter, so you can go much larger than 800 microns.

Matrix and Pond Matrix are the same product, but pond matrix has a larger diameter.

The media can be used in a wet/dry system or fully submerged.

Amesome, thanks guys

I always just had mine in the sump with no bag.

Laundry bags from the dollar store will hold it and make it easy if you need to move it or rinse it. Pond matrix is better for a lot of larger applications, especially since you can get a 5g bucket of it at most Lfs.
