hey guys hows it going!
i bough some neutral regulator last night to start doing water changes with as a cheaper alternative to prime.
i was just wondering, it says it softens water i was wondering will this effect my mbuna's much? im getting to the point as if i stuff anything up its gonna get costly so i just wanted to touch base on the hardness of the water and whether this powder will be ok or not?

This is cheaper then prime? man I must be shopping at the wrong place.

1 teaspoon treats 10 - 20 gallons, and it cost me about 6 bucks and didn't work worth a darn to keep pH at 7.0 at any dosage, I tried all the way up to 6X dosage.

Prime cost 5.99 and treats 50 gallons from 1 teaspoon.

It does not cost less then prime. It has worked well for me, I use it to raise my kH in one of my tanks. If you have mbunas why would you want the pH to be neutral?

maybe i was od'ing on the prime the prime, i was using one capful a bucket which ive since found it heaps to much.

i just need to know if softening the water will effect my mbuna's.
the water has always been at 7, ive only just since found out that its better to keep them at 8.

dnag at that rate you'll never need to worry about ammonia :-)
