have you tried the powder form of prime? Seachem Safe. It's much more concentrated and cheaper.

I will never by prime again. The amount of water that $30 of Safe treats is rediculous. You'll never need to buy water conditioner again! (Well until the Safe expires that is)

I am looking online and found purigen by the same company but am scared to buy it as it might kill my stock if I add any other chems. Also the safe is it ok in planted tanks

Not sure about purigen. Look for seachem safe. It definitely is safe for planted tanks. I only have a few live plants and its fine. A friend of mine has a high tech planted tank and he uses safe as well with no ill effects.

Purigan is a chemical filter media. Different product, not for treating tap water.
