Has anyone tried the regeneration process for Seachem Purigen?
I have tried bleaching it base on instructions by Seachem.
But dun seem to be able to get 100% or anywhere close to it kind of regeneration. More than 70% of the beads are still dark brown. Have soaked for 48 Hrs without success and now doing so with new bleach for another 24Hrs.

I have used purigen for the last 2 and 1/2 years and have not purchased any new since then. What seems to work for me is to occasionally stir the purigen and bleach.I never seem to get 100% color change but this does not seem to effect how well it works.I also do this process every 4 or 5 months.I use about 300 grams on my 90 gal.bullhead tank and about 150 grams on my 55 gal. planted tank.water has never been better since using purigen..

So you too do not get 100% color regeneration?
To what extend do you rinse the bleach off purigen?
How do you know if there are no more bleach residue on the beads?
As this is my first time doing this, very afraid that bleach residue gets into the tank and kill off everything!

Lets see......First you soak in a 1part bleach to 1 part water solution for at leat 24 hours,(you can soak longer, but you have to change your solution every 24 hours)Rinse well with tap water then soak for 8 hours in wter containing 2 tablespoons of a dechlorinator (chlorguard prime or equal) after this soak for 4 more hours in a solution containing 1 tablespoon per cup of water of your choice of buffer(acidic or nuetral,NOT alkaline). After all of this you are done and it should be original color for the most part. The process can be repeated if necassary,it will aid the color changing.A good idea is to keep a back-up pouch to use while regenerating the other pouch.

I plan to soak using Prime.. but can I use my tank water at PH6.8 to soak/buffer the purigen to the same PH?

I dont know if I would use tank water as it would contain the impurities that you are trying to remove from the purigen.I dont use a buffer at all to be honest,I just use age water, water cycled with a pump for 24 hours after adding chloragaurd prime. My PH out of the tap is 6.5 so a buffer is not needed,I think you'll have the same luck.

I was trying to wash the bleach off the purigen last night.
Even after major washing, the smell of bleach is still there.
Tried soaking it in alot of anti-chlorine also din help much.
Continue washing in a tub still produce bleach foam.
Really too afraid to reuse it now if I cannot be certain the bleach has been 100% removed.

are you using a 50/50 bleach/water solution? how long are you soaking? it needs to be 24 hours.after switching solutions you must rinse incool tap water.Like I stated b4 never had any problems w this stuff.Look up the directions on line and follow them closely.

Yes I followed exactly as the instruction for regeneration.
Till now still soaking in Tap water and rinsing daily till no smell of bleach.
At this moment I can still smell some bleach smell so still dun dare to put back into tank.
