I don't think there is an expiration but just curious why you are buying so much? I buy the 2.2lb(1 kilo) container and it lasts forever and I do 85% weekly water changes on all my tanks.
My container suggests dosing 1tsp per 200g at 4ppm chlorine in tap water. I talked with Seachem and they actually ran more tests and it is actually stronger than they originally thought. They told me that 1tsp will actually treat 300g at 4ppm chlorine in tap. Just to give you an idea my local tap water for last years tests run by my municipal water company showed an average of roughly 1.45ppm chlorine at any given time in my tap water. So in my case, if I were to round the 1.45ppm up to 2 for maths sake, then 1tsp will actually treat 600g of MY water.
However, with all that being said I double dose and sometimes triple dose anyways because it goes such a long ways.
So if what I would do is first find out what your average chlorine amounts read in ppm and dose accordingly. If you are in the US most local water companies keep their chlorine under 4ppm unless they are doing burnouts in the summertime to kill off unwanted bacteria and algae.
