yesterday i bought a snowflake and zebra eel:headbang2 and am now going to buy the sand for my 180. will the seaflor special grade be a good choice with the eels, or do i have to buy oolitic sand which id rather not.

Special grade I think has a grain size of 1.0-2.0mm.

That should be fine...it works for my shark.

The eels are in a qt tank at the moment then will go into my 54 while I setup and cycle my 180.

Gotcha, good move on the QT. I was worried for a second, but you have it all under control.

yeah i learned my lesson very fast with skipping the qt process, nothing major but battling ich for a couple months and loosing a tang. never again.

Yep, that is what happens to us all. Learn the hard way.

That is why I push hard for others to adopt the QT way before they have to go through problems.
