So I was at the LGS and I saw a bag of "Seafood Mix" in my grocers frozen food aisle. It contains: raw octopus, raw cuttlefish, raw squid, raw shrimp, cooked mussels or cooked clams. A 12 oz bag was $1.99. Which came out to be $0.17 per oz. which is way way cheaper than getting them frozen MP. Has anyone tried this stuff?

got to be a good solution for sure. cant see any reason why this wouldn't work other than in fish that cannot tolerate high proteins. i had heard some guy in my lfs talking about feeding seafood to freshwater fish being bad practice but i forget his reasoning and cant figure out why it could be bad other than its food these fish would never eat in the wild.

I bought a pound of fresh cuttlefish to feed my fish with the other week. My dad saw it in the freezer and cooked it for dinner one night. :newbie:

anyway, i think it's fine too

The mix is mainly shrimp, clams, mussels, squid, and tiny octopus, it is fairly good quality stuff, I use it to make ceviche. the is some difference in the fats between fw fish and sw fish but this stuff is molluscs and crustaceans, I don't see a problem.
