So my growout sprung a leak 2 days ago and I had to move the pair of red terrors that I have (only around 3.5-4" right now) to a spare 36 bow front.
Anyways, I decided to upgrade and found a 125 with stand and canopy for sale but when I went to check the fish tank out, something about the structural seals bothered me. The top portion, roughly 1.5"-2" or the sealant on the front panel of the aquarium seemed to be almost completely detached compared to the rest of the sealant which was solid all the way through, no signs of bubbles or any stressing. Just the top 1.5-2" of the aquarium. The tank was filled and running without issues.
Am I being too cautious or is that much bubbling/stretching from the seal actual cause for concern? According to the guy, he only had the tank for a few months up and running without issues but he had gotten it used from someone else as well. Likely an old setup. One of the top center braces had been cracked prior to him getting it also by the former owner in the process of moving it.
Is it worth the risk at $200 for the entire setup, plus a canister filter? Or should I pass and keep looking for something less risky/newer?
