i have a plastic ornament in my tank shaped as roots/driftwood (only fake piece i have and starting to hate it). its hollowed out for weight i guess and my clown loaches hide in there all the time. id like to seal off the holes w/ a type of sealant wence they all come out (which never seems to happen lol). so my question is 1) how do i get the loaches out lol and 2) can i use the sealant you would use on the tank or is there something else better.

just take it out and when you do try and put an obstruction in front of the holes. and i was thinking the same thing or you can use the sealant and cover the holes up.

i tried yesterday w/ 2 still in there and i pulled it out, put it in over and over and they didnt leave. im temped to jus break it and scoop em out lol but my cichlids like hiding under it

Hello; when you get the fish out, perhaps you can stuff the holes with something such as filter media or nylon screening material or such.

I have a plastic pirate ship that they did the same thing to. Just keep pulling the ornament in and out, or leave it out of the water, and eventually they will wiggle out, and you can put them back in the tank..

For mine, I use the rubber roofing PL sealant/adhesive - I used the PL construction adhesive first, and then used the black rubber sealant over it because I did not know if the construction adhesive was fish safe.. it is however water proof. But the PL rubber adhesive is fish safe.
