I have a 55g that i'm trying to add a glass divider in the middle of the tank. I'm trying to add volume to the tank and build a bigger sump. Is there anything special about siliconing glass in a tank? I know to clean all the glass very well and let the silicon to cure for a few days before adding water. Anything elso i dont know about?

I picked up an old 55g for cheap and i mean OLD. The glass is 3/8 thick on the ends. Anyhow, i filled it to see if it would hold and it failed. The corner seam blew out. How do i fix it?

At this point you might have to look at taking the tank, or at least the one full pane off of the tank and resealing it.

I used a razor blade to get the excess silicone off and used windex and a brillo pad to get the rest. I dont think its worth fixin so i siliconed it and im going to gorilla glue the brace and sell it for a reptile tank.
