I have been thinking about how to seal my ply cheaply. I was thinking about sticking a thin layer of acrylic to the ply, but our local supplier is extortionate. I was wishing I could get some cheap placcy sheet, food grade just a few mm thick would do!!! Why is it sooo expensive...when a possible answer hit me...the bottle I am drinking from...its food grade PET, a recycleable thermoplastic!

That should do! So I cut the top off the bottle and the bottom, leaving a cylinder, then cut this in half. Flattened them out giving about 2 tiles @ 1 sq ft... This Rocks...:headbang2 I have stuck them together using the gas hob as I dont have a hot air gun yet!!! Its difficult to do like that though as there is a very fine line between melt and burn!

Next pay check I'm getting a hotair gun and raiding the recycle point!!! Anyone tried this or any thoughts????

To my understanding the bottles that are used for water can only be used for so long before they start breaking down and leaching chemicals into the water.
