You can look online or expand the range you would be willing to drive for an LFS that will get one for you.

Just make sure you do your research. They need very specific conditions in a tank by themselves(important here if you are to be successful). Low lighting and absolutely no places where they can escape. This includes the top of the tank, overflows, powerheads, etc. Anywhere they can get into they will. They also need toys to play with or they are known to cause problems because they are very smart.

I tried an Octo about 20 years ago and it was a nightmare. They are too smart, too strong and too shy.....They wreck equiptment.....before it finally escaped for good I caught it partway out my tank twice. Plan carefully.....no internal equiptment at all! The tank needs to be purpose built. It was a Two Spot Octo....wish i still had a pic....I had polaroids! LOL

I've always wanted an octopus, but I would be scared to go to sleep at night.

They can get out of anything really. I wouldn't be surprised if I woke up at night to an octopus choking me to death, while smoking a cigar, they're that smart.

They really are. There has to be plenty you haven't tried/done yet in the salt hobby rather than trying an octo.

They don't have a long life anyway. I don't support that trade!

Then you shouldnt be in the SW game at all.

My biggest dislike for the hobby is that it revolves around all these species that have to be wild caught.

This is why if I can buy tank bred (which is easily done with octo's) I do, and when I cant, I buy the smallest fish possible. (One who is not contributing to the reproductive population of an area.
