my gf has several seashells , smaller ones that she got from the ocean years ago, if I boil them can I put them in my tank? I have PFS as substrate. thanks

Make sure the spine part of the shell isn't a long or winding one, if so it will create a stagnant void and create a toxic gas pocket.

Also small fish can get trapped in there and die.

i would say you are safe. wash it and put it into the tank, it will cause no harm. But why put a saltwater shell in a freshwater simulation environment? that would look weird :p

cause i have sand as a substrate, so it'd be kind of cool all it is is sand, 1 big driftwood, i think seashells laying around would be awesome :(
