Just bought a sebae last night. Acclimated him for 3 hours with a very very slow drip. He got huge in the acclimator, took him out, put him in the tank, and he looked really good all day but as soon as the first 3 lights turned off for them to go to bed he shriveled. He was standing when i went to bed last night and now he is kinda laying on his side. My question is is he dieing? Or could he still be acclimating? He hasnt moved to a different spot in the aquarium. He also has some yellow stuff on him that kinda looks like pollen. Also do they close at night? I attatched a picture. My water params are all in check.

Last time I remembered when I had the same problem with the same anenome it died a week or so later and it totally messed up my tank badly that I had to redo my tank again from scrach

But from the picture it looks pretty healthy to me and yes they do close at night.

Looks hungry maybe try a lil' silverside chunk - worst case he spits it out. Yes, anemone's very much do roll up in a ball or cave at night. And Yes, he's still acclimated, perhaps not so much to new water parameters but a new source of light. If it starts loosing color or it's insides protrude thru the mouth it's in trouble. Color lose will be difficult to see with Seabae's which is the key indicator for most anemones they are in distress. The Sebae not moving around is a good thing. If he eats it's a great thing!

Okay. This is what he looks like this morning. He is laying on his side even more than yesterday. Does he still look okay?

laying on his side isnt nessisarily a bad thing. They usually move to a position/orientation that suits them best.

Okay.. when the other three lights came on he started to stand on his foot so he must only lay on his side when the lights are off
