We got some sebae monos in at the pet store where I work and I'd like to know more about them. I've dome some research online and so far all I know is: they can get up to 8 inches, they need a tall tank, and they are brackish.

Are they aggressive? One website said that they are aggressive, another said they are semi-aggressive and another said they are peaceful. Which one is it?

Also i've read that when they are young they are ok in freshwater but as they get bigger and mature that they should be gradually be converted to a higher salinity. Is that true? If it is true when should you start converting them to a higher salinity? I'd appreciate any info.

They're pretty peaceful, they are also a brackish fish, so like most brackish fish - they are ok while young in freshwater but really should be in brackish and will do best there.

They actually get quite large, are schooling species & do best in marine conditions as adult. Great, a fish store that cares to give correct info! :D

That pretty much sums it up...and they are probably the most attractive brackish display fish.

Sebae monos are great, they don't have the pretty yellow like argentus but they're shape when they grow is just too cool.

I have 4 young Mono Sebae in a brackish tank. The only other fish in the tank are Flounders and they have never touched them. I've read that the Monos develop a 'pecking order' and I can confirm that they do peck at each other, but not in any particular order. So I would classify them as semi-aggressive. One thing I noticed is that they are incredibly fast swimmers (especially during feeding) and tend to scrape themselves on large rocks when they dart around the tank, so I removed rocks with jagged edges from their tank. I feed them flakes, brine shrimp and blood worms.

All schooling fish have a pecking order. Brine shrimp are basicly non-nutritious (98% water) & bloodworms are FW food & should be soaked in Selcon. I would lean towards more SW-type foods.

What would you recommend for Monos, something like krill or marine pellets?

Krill should not be used as a staple for any fish. they need a varied diet. SW flakes/pellets are good, freeze-dried plankton & mysis shrimp too.
