I know this sounds weird but is there a way to lock your tank? From opening and closing? Let's say you have a rare fish or something and when you're away you dont want anyone stealing your fish? Yes I know house alarms and all that but what if they got in? Pretty sure they wouldn't just crack the tank open it might injure the fish ..just thought though

if someone is planning on stealing a fish they have to be prepared to transport it. that being said someone would need a good look at your fish or know your fish and address. and if they went through all that trouble i doubt a pad lock would stop them. most B&E go after electronics /guns/jewelry/money/sports cards and most anything else they can sell on CL :)

If the fish were valuable enough to be worth all this effort why wouldn't the thief just get a glass cutter? Seems like a pretty moot point to me.

I could see something like this being useful in say, a classroom where you don't want some kid dumping kool aid into the tank.

agreed. keeping from killing the fish with pranks or what not would be more of a suitable idea. like college kids love to pour alcohol in fish tanks for some odd reason.... and definitely classrooms would need locks.
