Does anyone have any sexy/good lookking ways of securing tank tops? I want to secure the 3 lids on my acrylic 530g tank. On my 180g I was using a long length of 4x4 wood. I was thinking of getting 2 94in long 4x4 which I think paint black in plastidip/flex seal. They will look half decent and the rubber paint should prevent scratching. They will just be clunky to constantly looking and pain to constantly move. I am currently using one right now and Im not confident in it as my aimara gets bigger.

The second idea I was thinking of was using velcro. There is clear velcro which I was thinking of placing 4 pieces on each lid (one by each corner). These are low profile and being clear should not be too noticeable. My biggest concern is whether or not the adhesive is bad for the acrylic. Thoughts on that JK47 JK47 ?

And a piece of clear Velcro tape adhesive will not ruin your pretty little tank

I checked your build thread and saw that your lids appear to be flush with the top of the tank, correct? You may be able to install the 'latches' so they catch under the top of the tank and just use a small knob to rotate them open/closed that would be visible on top of the tank.

I've not done this but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only thing you may have to be careful of is the thickness of the lids and making sure the latch isn't tight enough to crack the lids or tank top.
