Okay so has anyone ever like glue or some how waited driftwood down to the bottom. i have some pieces for my 120g and i want them to look like stick-ups not just laying on the bottom. Is there a good way to do this, or should i just put them in the gravel and hope my royal plec and other monsters dont knock them over?

I'm not sure about driftwood but I've heard of siliconing plactic plants to the bottom. Ofcourse this requires emptying and drying the tank. Then not using it until the silicone is cured. I'm probably going to do it to mine when I move in 3 months. I'm tired of seeing plants slowly float across my tank.

You could do that with aquarium silicone, but it would have to be dry, and have enough time to cure. Or you can cut the wood to get a flat surface, and use aquarium silicone to attach it to a piece of slate.

Hey I never thought about siliconing it to rock. That's a great idea! Too bad I don't use driftwood. lol

I have that problem sometimes with real plants i have. Especially when they are first started. Usually i would tie the plant to a rock.

For my real plants I use some ties that I get from my LFS. Not sure what they're made of, but they look like lead or pewter. I think they're actually called plant weights.

Best way to anchor plants if you have wood in your tank is to use a black thread polyester works great, and tie it to the wood. In a couple weeks the plants will be rooted to the wood, and the thread won't be seen.

Yep, just silicon it.

i have used large pieces of lead coated with non toxic epoxy to wait drift wood....also you could mount item to flat plates ( non toxic plastic etc) and bury the plates in the gravel
