Just recently purchased a lovely young silver aro..he was a little nervous for the first day but has got used to us walking past the tank etc..however today every time my girlfriend walked past the tank he freaked out jumping and darting all over the tank! If I walked past no reaction..tried to figure out why he was doing this as he wasn't yesterday.Today my girlfriend was wearing a bright red top and I wondered if this could have been it?? Part joking I said to her to chang her T shirt which she did to a dark one and try walking past the tank..didn't jump or hardly move at all..weird or coincidence?..I thought coincidence until my son came home from football training wearing a bright red England shirt only to find every he time he went near the tank the fish flipped out..again got him to put different shirt on and the aro is fine!!!Anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

Wow. Definately a strange coincidence, if it is one.

Maybe he just doesn't like women and children!!! :D

I've never kept arros, but never had an experience like that with any others I've kept.

I'm sure someone here can share some insight.

I'm not sure exactly what the question is, but I did explain that I don't keep arrowanas and that none of the many species I've kept have ever been attracted or disliked any specific color.

anyways,
red is believe to have some kind of pychological effect on fish

Somewhat like a bullfighter using a piece of red cloth.

This is the first time I've heard of it with fish. Very interesting.
