I wanted to ask if its possible to add a fader type flowerhorn into a community tank? I've been told how aggressive they are to be added with anything, but my current low grade flowerhorn does pretty nicely with a colony of parrots, a buttikoferi cichlid and a green texas cichlid. i really would love to have a mammon but there isn't one available here locally. would love to have one shipped but i don't have the means right now to buy one T_T so am thinking of having a fader/red/pink type flowerhorn as a good replacement until the time comes i can actually save up for a legit mammon. i've seen mammon in communities so i assume they can be placed in a community setting. wanted to ask if fader flowerhorns do just as well or is there any caution involved before placing in those beasts? is their temperament more like those of a red devil or are they more like parrots?

thanks monsterfishkeepers!

I don't think your issue will be the flowerhorn. I know several people that have them in community set ups. Now your butti is a different story. Very very few butti work out in a community set up. If there was a fish to worry about its aggression it would be the butti.

I wouldn't mix a butti with FH's.. As for the fader, I say don't do it. Mammons can be aggressive but FH's are ruthless. Things may be working out for you now, but that may change, especially with adding another FH.

They would act about the same as your other Fh in the community, dep. on size. The main problem you will have is with the two flowerhorns fighting over who gets to the be the only flowerhorn in the tank, as time passes and they grow older. They will be in direct competition with eachother unless they pair up
