Hello all. I've lurked for long enough to know that a great number of you really know your stuff. I have a number of larger tanks at home, but it has been a very long time since I've done a small tank. I'm cycling a 26g bowfront in my office at work and am curious as to your ideas regarding stocking it. Here's what I know I don't want: (1) shell dwellers, (2) angelfish, (3) apistos and/or rams, (4) anything requiring sand, (5) anything saltwater, or (6) a "community" tank. I really want more cichilds (I have the bug). I'm curious what you think about these possible options: I could potentially do some african cichlids (yellow labs and what?). I could do a green terror, some target fish, and a sucker cat (anything but common pleco). I could do a single predatory fish. I could do a thorichthys and maybe get away with another mellow fish. I could do rainbow cichlids. What do you think about these, and any other good ideas? Any ideas and advice would be much appreciated.

So, no one will help me with this simple request?

i think you've just about eliminated most choices that come to mind right away.

since you have a few other tanks with some fish, have you thought about making the bow a planted tank with inverts for a change?? even easy-to-care-for aquatic plants can look rather nice with a little bit of planning, and a couple fancy shrimp and/or snails.

ok now we know what you dont want we can find what you do want lol idea 1. Tang chichlids calvus brichardi compressecepts (spelling?) cyprochromis ect even though you dont want shellies they will be compatable also 2. Pair of cons 3. acara pair 4. exodon paradoxes shoal (like mini pirahnas) 5. other africans lellow labs ect

How about a pair of blue Acaras? Also an adult bristlenose or rubber-lipped pleco.

blue acaras get up to 8". That tanks probably on the small side. What are the dimensions?

What about kribs (pelvichromis pulcher), buffalo heads? dwarf acaras (Laetacara curviceps, dorsinger) Keyholes? Dwarf amazon puffers? 1 pair of convicts, HRP, even better nanoluteus? rasboras? tetras?

The green terror is a bit on the larger side for that tank. As mentioned above a nice little planted tank with some neons or cardinals and a few inverts would be nice. Maybe just some regular tang. cichlids like lelupi, comps, or julies. I really like the thorichthys idea, dwarf acara's, pair of cons, keyholes, festivums, and exodons would all work.

how about a nice planted tank with a whole lot of FW shrimp! you could have an amazing colony of red cherry shrimp and a really nice planted tank. maybe have some white clouds to round out the top portion of the tank
