so my gf tank is a 20G, and there is not 1sq inch of that tank that isnt covered in snails. i would like to get her 3 clown loaches, the long term plan is for those 3 fish to go in my 120G once they out grow hers. now she also has ghost shrimp and she will be pissed if the loaches eat her shrimp, so i want your oppinion before i do this,

thanks

Just limit feeding and remove the snails manually using a lettuce leaf as bait. It's very simple.

yah i know that method, tried it once with these snails, they didnt want the lettuce,or cucumber. the gf has room for a couple more fish in her tank, and so we thought we would get a loach so he could have fun flipping and eating snails. there must be some sort of loach out there that will do the trick.

you could try a trio of yo-yo loaches ... they stay small -- smaller than clowns, anyway -- and would get the job done ... and if (when) they outgrow the 20G, you can still move them to your 120G

I have kept yo-yos for the last few years, and I think they're great ...

You could get some assassin snail to eat the unwanted snails. They do not breed fast and will eat the same foods as your other snails when the other snails are taken care of. You can find them on aquabid.com.

yah my lfs always has assasin snails. and as for the yo-yo loaches i have owned them before the only thing is they could never go in the 120G lol, its a Geo tank with some nicoraquensis cichlids and a few florida spotted gar. so the yo-yo's would be food for the gar, thats why i was crossing my fingers that the clown loaches would work in her tank, that way once they outgrow her tank i could put them in mine, i think they are realy nice when they get big. thanks for the ideas tho

could help but ask...are you calling your tank a her or am i missing something here?
