I have a 30 gal that I'm trying to "aquascape". The tank is on the lower end with about 1 watt per gal lighting. I am trying to come up with some groundcover or foreground plants to fill out the tank but any recommendations are appreciated. I also would like to say that i have a layer of 3 to 4 inches of course gravel. I know its not the best substrate for plants, but I'm trying to work with it at least for now. Thanks

I dont really know of a foreground plant that will grow with low light. The only thing I ca think of is some type of moss. It can look really nice as a foreground plant if it is trimmed well.

I do think the moss would look nice in the tank I have.... suggestions on what kind? And I think the moss would look nice on some rocks I have in the tank. Give it a more natural look you know?

ive got java moss thriving in my shrimp tank.. its getting way less than 1w per gallon.. and half the time the surface is covered in duckweed.. true its not thick and lush like it is in my planted tank.. but its still growing great in the low light...

same goes for my guppy grass/dwarf hair grass.. i cant think of the scientific name..

i lied its not guppy grass.. im not even sure where i got that term.. however i think it should be called buppy grass "just cuz"

you can either use moss like someone stated or anubias nana petite can work good as a foreground plant in really low light.

Marsilea minuta can handle low light, and is a ground cover looking very similar to glosso. I have some available... see my link below.

Thanks for the tips and thanks for moving my thread Harleyk. I should've posted in this area originally, but I didn't know it existed.
