My Oscar is 5150!!! SERIUOSLY!!! I have had him/her since it was an inch and now its 13" I like the fish but it doesnt like me anymore( or anyone else for that matter) If you even look at it it charges and slams into the glass. Today, the impact was so severe the fish had blood coming from the gils and it just sat in the corner. If the lights are out and it can see its reflection then watch out!! It can literally knock over rocks with its tail wash!!! 210gallons, 15 various Africans(all run and hide),one 14"sailfin pleco and one 10" common pleco. Oh yeah, one 6" stone fish.

I want to get rid of this fish before it seriously hurts itself...any suggestions? Share your experiences, please, on keeping it.

It might be freaking out cause your keeping one south american cichlid with 15 various africans. IME they usually don't get along that great. So he's already stressed, then someone walks by the tank or you look at him he gets spooked and stressed more and trys to swim to safety.

Just my .02

He doesnt get spooked though. He actually patrols the whole tank like a gaurd dog. This fish is pissed, not scared. I think. My Africans are all under 5" also, so hes not fighting with any of those fish.

Maybe yur right about the S.American/African thing.

Maybe he need to get laid, lol. But just lone oscars can get quite agressive at times..........

I have had oscars that were really shy and some that would attack the tank when you got close, it all depends on the fish. Kind of surprising in a 210 gallon, but when it comes to fish anything can happen. Maybe try adding more decor if you don't have any or taking some out and see if that changes his behavior.
