a family in Arizona managed to build a self sustaining system to feed their family and transforming the way the town views growing their own food...

Which is a pretty neat idea and with some tweaking could look pretty sweet as well as functional...


 
That’s really neat.
Nine months for the systems to fully establish is a long time. I wonder how warm those green houses would stay in the colder states like mine.

Depends on how well you heat them. There's was a show a awhile back where a off grid guy helped newbies be self substaining. He rigged up one neck of a grow house that was heated by the sun all day and transferred it to pipping. I'll see if I can find the video. It was really interesting
