I bought a rack off of amazon and it was listed as being 18 inches wide, it is not.
Since it is not 18 inches wide can I have some plywood cut to length to fit my 75 gallons and just put them on top even though they will hang over a bit?
I believe the tank will not be supported properly, even with the plywood. I would return it, as the seller sold something not as it was listed. Having the wrong stand can cause the weight of the water to crack the tank if its not supported properly. NOT WORTH THE RISK. Get the rite stand to fit the tank.
It looks to be just shy of 17" wide. So that would mean your 18" wide tank would need to overlap about 1/2" front and back. I don't think that's a major problem if your tank is sitting on ply.
Just found out one leg is off by maybe 3/10 of an inch. I believe I have to put a thin piece of wood or something underneath said leg to make it all level?
I’m assuming the length was right since you didn’t mention it.
Is .5 inch something you already have lying around?
I would use 3/4 if you have to acquire the plywood. Just for the additional safety.
If there are multiple problems with this you may want to just return it. Unless you are certain you can make it stable.
Just return it and get the right one. I bought some at Lowe’s and everything fit perfect, was the right size, and didn’t wobble. Get something like that...it’ll look nicer and fit your tank better. 1/2” around isn’t horrible but still...
Oh my ####### god, #### me. I was so preocupied about the width that I didn’t bother checking the length besides a quick tape measure. They are a god damn fraction of an inch to short and I could only get them in if I forced them and cracked the damn tank. #### my life. I’m giving it to my parents and getting myself a damn 6’ x 2’ rack.

Thanks man, at least there is an upside to this, once I get this 6' x 2' rack https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DXST1...0S2384QVTG9&psc=1&refRID=02BMG7PWD0S2384QVTG9
I can custom build a 6' x 2' lizard enclosure to go on one shelf for a to be determined lizard and use the other shelves and not used space for other stuff, not sure yet.
