Selling to Australia is out since we can only import a limited species range from approved countries (which excludes Columbia) via approved fish exporters within those countries.
His main problem will be transport costs so he will have to offer something unique or a wide species range (or get together with other local suppliers to provide a good range). Buyers need to buy large enough quantities to make their purchase economical (economy of scale) so he will need to target larger importers or chain stores which might import directly but its a very competitive field. On top of this he needs to be able to offer a reliable supply of consistent quality and health. Since he is already exporting I am sure he knows all this.
Perhaps he can use his Spain contacts as a middle man to England/Europe which will benefit both him and his Spanish client?
