I have a bank of eight 20 gallon tanks I've been doing WCs the old fashion way....siphoning water out....then grabbing my fill hose and refilling...and treating with Prime
I would like to try a drip system water changer and dechlor via a carbon filter. I have an old RO unit sitting around collecting dust and thought I might use it for my carbon filter but it poses some problems/questions.
Unfortunately for me I dont have a fishroom and I have tanks in almost every room of the house. So my water supply for refilling tanks is not in close proximity to some of the tanks and I have a 50' garden hose I drag thru the house from tank to tank.
Can the RO size fittings/tubing supply the pressure and flow needed to run eight 2gph emitters?
Are there the proper adapters available to convert from RO size fitting up to the 5/8" garden hose? Im skeptical since it is such a big size difference.
Im trying to avoid buying a whole house filter if possible since I have two perfectly good 10" canisters sitting here.
I suppose instead of putting the carbon filter at my water supply....I could place it under the tanks and then feed the emitters...
Or maybe I could run the two carbon filters parallel instead of in series to increase flow?
I dunno....is it possible? How would you try it?
