I found some of these sponge replacements cheap (~$1) so I bought a few and made an extension to my sponge filter, and power it with a power head. The pix are pretty much self explanatory, but feel free to ask any questions.

i like that, could i recomend useing rubber bands to keep the media tight

I wish I could make stuff. I made a lincoln log cabin in the restroom this morning, but thats not very useful.

LOL Wurm.

Fishskins, If they dont go together in the next day or two, I'll try that. They've still got some air in them so hopefully they'll flatten out.

I bought an AC filter, and I put it together MYSELF! Does that count?

:screwy: :chillpill: trust me you make every day ! bet you need toliet paper

nice rally. why did u decide that you needed a sponge filter?

I put sponge filters in almost all of my tanks. Its great to have established sponges laying around for new tank setups:)

That would be great for my loach tank. Give my tank more of a river flow. I am going to have to build a couple of those for my 180.
