Sen feeding question

Yesterday I purchased my first senegal bichir and im super excited, on my way out of my lfs I picked up some hikari carnivore pellets but didnt realise that they were floating not sinking untill I got home and had opened them... Will he ever learn to except them as a food?

If i were you i would go to the closest LFS and ask them if they have frozen beefheart. beefheart helps them grow fast and sinks. Since it's frozen it will float for a couple minutes. so what i do is i take some of the tank water put it in a contaner and put the frozen beefheart in the container. then when it i at the bottom i turn my lights off and let him find it then i turn the lights on so i can inspect him/ watch him eat.try and mix it up to try and keep him guessing weather he'll have blood worms pellets or beefheart. thanks what i like to do cause it helps with growth.
 
i know, and i have a bunch of sinking pellets for my ropefish. I just like the hikari for the nutritional value and was trying to switch both but didn't read the package. I was just wondering weather he would eat from the surface.
 
i go off of this method if they are hungary and there is a food source in the tank they will find it lol
