Several years a go I bought my 1st bichir super small like a juvi earth worm didn't see'm for months then boom he's 5-6 inches long. No agression lived w/ small bite size juvi African Cichlids just fine.
Xmas eve rolls round, xmas bonus time was eyein' up a juvi goliath tiger bought'm with big plans, was gonna build him a pond in the basement.
$100 for ths guy @ 2" moved the afro's outta the 75 gal leaving the bichir and a trinadad and my brand new pride and joy monster fish. Ol' lady flipped a gasket @ spending $100 for a fish. Went to bed........the hell w/ santa I wanted to see my New fish 1st thing xmas.........nowhere to be found..........bichir comes out smiling @ me fat as fat can get Mr. senegal gotta $100 xmas feast -

This was 2 years ago since then I've fallin' in luv w/ Bichirs and own 3 the senegal , an ornate, and a gold dust. Also have new found respect for their predatory nature, never again will any juvi's live with a bichir.
#1 on my wishlist the Armored Bichir...........someday soon hopefully. My local pet store just now got another Goliath Tiger fish in stock $100, think I'll pass this time.
