I'm interested in adding a crayfish to my tank. In there I have a 5'' Needlenose and a 5 1/2'' Senegal. I dunno what size to get or anything but I was just wondering if any of you have had any luck with keeping crayfish in the same tank.

crayfish and other inverts are a natural part of the bichir diet. Maybe when they are small, definitely not as the senegal starts to outgrow the crayfish

Well, I don't know if this would be considered cruel or not but honestly I don't think I'd mind if after a while (hopefully after at least a little while) the bichir made lunch out of the crawfish. I guess my real concern is if the crawfish would harm my bichir much.

Not a good idea. My bichirs ate my crayfish and they weren't even that big. (5-6 inchers.)

I'd worry about the bichir eating the crayfish.

Lol, as many people said

If the Bichir were small enough, couldn't it get eaten by the crayfish? Crayfish are kind of nasty.

Bichirs are pretty lazy during the day and would be an easy target for a crayfish. A medium-large crayfish would have no problem trapping one in there powerful claws...

Then if the sen is too big, your cray is food...

Crays are best for species only tanks.
