I have wanted a Senegal Bichir ever since I first saw one. I would like to know if one would be compatible with what I already have. I mainly have a catfish tank and some other randoms;
Black Ghost Knife
Leopard Bush Fish
Raphael Catfish
Tandanus Catfish
Hoplo Catfish
Whiptail
Clown Loaches
Paki Loackes
Zebra Loach
Gold Severum
Cuckoo Catfish
Berneys Catfish

Would these guys be fine with a Senegal Bichir? If not, what would be the issues? Or do I have some fish which would be fine and others that would not?

i dont know a lot about some of those species, but i have two senegals with a black ghost knife and a striped raphael cat. but i don't see any aggression problems from your list, just maybe problems with enough bottom space. are there lots of hiding places?

Thanks. The Raphael's are my favourite cats, so good to hear they should be safe. Same with the Ghost Knife.

I would say quite a large % of the bottom is covered by lava rocks, driftwood, rocks, caves and used some slate to create 2 more caves. I will be adding some more wood/rock to create a few more hiding spots.

then i think the senegal should be fine. mine are young still and spend a lot of time near the surface and if you buy a young one they probably will too. good luck with your tank!

Mine lives with a little zonatus.vieja
and is perfectly acting

The Zebra Loach is small. Too fast for me to measure accurately. I would guess about the 5cm mark. loaches.com tells me the max size is 10cm.
I would have more, but they are so hard to find/get here.

My LFS keeps telling me a Senegal won't go with anything I have. I had some advice a while back that the clown loaches will be fine, but the LFS' experience tells them they have seen Senegals take on clowns and that even my Tandanus which is 30cm+ would have issues. There is just too much conflicting information. lol.

Does anyone breed Senegals? is there a chance captive bred would be less aggressive than wild? If I was to get a juvenile and was raised with the rest of my fish, would that also have a better chance at not becoming aggressive towards them?

i keep senegals with small loaches, however i used tuffies(small minnow dont know what) to feed my peacocks and marble goby at the time and saw my 2.5" senegal take one down. as long as they are bigger than the senegals big mouth you should be fine. I dont think they are aggressive IMO
