Hey everyone quick question. I now have a senegal at 4" along with a Gourami 2" two tiger barbs 1"+ and an electric yellow lab 2". They all get along fine and all but the sen eat the floating Cichlid pellets. the girl at petsmart besides being a pain about everything said to use tropical fish flakes for the Senegal and everything else in the tank. So i have been adding a bit of each. What should i do? he is eating cuz i see him with a fat belly at night and in the morning. What should i do?

what should i feed it? freeze dried flake food?

my sens love shrimp pellets. they need a little more bulk. flakes are too light for such a carnivore. they need something with a greater caloric density.

okay sweet thanks can i just feed that to everything?

no. you're probably going to have to start feeding various foods to your different fish. you're moving from smaller tropical fish to larger tropicals. flakes are a staple diet for smaller tropicals. you might also want to try feeding your smaller fish frozen bloodworms. use them as a treat.

okay thank you so much!

They will probably eat it too.
I cut up pieces of shrimp and talapia for mine. They also get massivore pellets which have alot of vitamins they need.
Edit... The barbs might be on the menu soon too.

Yeah i figured but we'll see in a couple months i'll set up my 100G and put the bichirs in there, I'm gonna get a bunch of them lol
