Hello, this is my first time on MFK. I have recently set up a 29 gallon tank for my 4 juvenile Senegal Bichirs (3 inches). I put plant bulbs in the tank, lots of hiding places, and have been feeding them beef heart and tubifex worms, alternating every day so they have a variety of nutrition. One of the bulbs (I'm pretty sure it's an Apnogenton) sprouted long leaves, and I noticed one of the leaves had been trimmed. I started snooping on my fish every day and discovered one of them with a long leaf hanging out of it's mouth! He/she bit down, and ate the small piece in it's mouth! Is this something to be worried about? It does it nearly every day now. I know its getting enough protein, so what is the deal? Do I have a fish with a Pica Eating Disorder, or what?
Any ideas/info would be so wonderful, thank you!!
